Sustainability and Industrial Development in a period of Financial Trouble

Abstract:

The origin of the economic and financial crisis is partially due to the imbalance between the real economy and the financial system. How has this led to such a break? Is this imbalance manageable in the short term and treatable in the long run? Using which instruments? It is not easy to answer these questions, but, in order to restore the role of production in the global economic system and make it sustainable, it is necessary to leverage technological innovation, which is key to increasing productivity levels in a period of scarce  capital investment.
