On March 12th 2012, Dr Leah-Nani Alconcel from Imperial College London presented at St Mary’s School Worcester as part of their Science Week.
Dr Leah-Nani Alconcel is the Operations Engineer in the Space and Atmospheric Physics group at Imperial College London and is a spacecraft engineer working on the Cassini and Cluster missions.
Dr Alconcel presented a 40 minute talk about space research which centred around the Cassini-Huygens mission, focusing on discoveries at Titan and Enceladus. Around 70 students, parents and teachers attended the talk and were invited to take part in a Question-and-Answer session following the talk. Dr Alconcel then presented to the students about studying at Imperial College London and discussed the various careers that a science degree can lead to.
