The Wellcome Trust – McMichael Clinical Research Facility (MWTCRF) at Hammersmith Hospital is a facility dedicated to clinical research. A core team of managers, nurses, medics, regulatory and administrative staff are in place to ensure that research is set-up and run effectively through to completion with the priority always being the safety and welfare of patients and healthy volunteers.
The MWTCRF Open Day aims to raise the profile of our CRF and the work undertaken here, by opening our doors and inviting the Public and Trust and College staff to visit and see what we can offer.
The day will run from 12.30 to 16.00 and will include:
- Vital Signs Screening: including blood pressure, oxygen saturation, body mass index (BMI) and body fat percentage performed by nurses from the MWTCRF.
- The opportunity to find out about becoming a volunteer in ongoing and future research studies.
- Talks: covering subjects including a previous volunteer’s experience of taking part in clinical trials, and examples of studies run within the MWTCRF (to be held in the Wolfson Conference Centre).
- Equipment demonstrations: including ECGs, calorimeters and exercise bike stress tests.
- Tours of the MWTCRF and Imanova, the Centre for Imaging Sciences at HH
