This is a joint meeting with the Institute of Global Health Innovation and Wellcome Centre for Clinical Tropical Medicine.
Day 1 (Wednesday 20 June): Innovation for Global Health
The first day is dedicated to fostering cross faculty partnership by illustrating areas of clinical needs in developing countries. Through a series of presentations and panel discussions delegates will hear about Imperial research that addresses major global health problems through technological innovation.
Themed talks include ‘Engineering solutions to global health needs’, ‘Innovative approaches to disease elimination’ and ‘Translation of research into policy’.
The day will conclude with a networking reception.
Day 2: (Thursday 21 June): The Wellcome Centre for Clinical Tropical Medicine’s Annual Scientific Meeting
The second day’s meeting is an opportunity for the wider College community to hear from Wellcome Trust funded research Fellows about their international work. Presentations will include talks on childhood and adult TB and HIV , complications of malnutrition, global health epidemiology, malaria, and discussion on funding opportunities for careers in tropical medicine and global health.
