Abstract

Cloud Computing is a provocative taxonomy for an evolutionary stage in internet enabled IT, with revolutionary implications for enterprises business and operating models
 
While there are compelling economic reasons why it is gaining traction, there are significant adoption barriers that require resolution before we see core enterprise deployment.  

Customers should take a forward leaning strategic posture that is tempered by prudence.

Mr. Lasher will provide an overview of Cloud Computing and how it is being adopted in the Enterprise. His presentation will cover the taxonomies and frameworks related to understanding Cloud computing, as well as the benefits organizations achieve and barriers they face in it’s adoption.

Biography

Lemuel Lasher, Group President, Global Business Solutions and Services (GBS) and CSC’s Chief Innovation Officer.

As Chief Innovation Officer of Computer Sciences Corporation – a leading global consulting systems integration and outsourcing company with 92,000 employees, a turnover of $17bn and a mission to provide clients in industry and government with tailored solutions to meet their specific challenges and enable them to profit from the advanced use of technology – Lemuel Lasher is responsible for the five global units of CSC’s Office of Innovation: the Leading Edge Forum, Research Network, Global Solutions Organization, CSC Collective Intelligence and Knowledge Management & Enablement. As Group President of Global Business Solutions and Services, Mr Lasher oversees CSC’s regional Consulting and Systems Integration business in the Americas, EMEA, ASIAPAC, and the global practices: Business Consulting & Solutions, Technology Consulting, SAP, Oracle and Program Management & Solutions Architecture.

Previously holding numerous managing director positions within CSC’s European Group which he joined in 1992 as Director, Network Integration Europe with responsibility for CSC’s network and telecommunications activities in Europe, Mr Lasher joined CSC in 1990 as Director, Commercial Program Development for the Network Integration Division in Herndon, VA. Prior to joining CSC, Mr Lasher was Vice President for Integrated Software Resources, a software consulting and engineering firm in the airline telecommunications industry. This followed executive positions with Deca Group; Aitta, Investment Seminars and Elan Vital.

Mr Lasher attended Baldwin Wallace College, Berea, OH and Friedrich Wilhelms University, Bonn, Germany, where he studied German Literature and Philosophy. He is an Adjunct Professor at Imperial College Business School.
