The Chaplaincy is delighted to welcome staff, students, alumni and friends to the College Carol Service by Candlelight.

The Carol Service lasts just under an hour finishing at 7pm. After the service please join us for a mince pie and a drink at the back of the Church.

At the end of term and amidst all the busy preparations for the Christmas holiday the Carol Service offers a space to reflect on what has been happening in our lives in the past year. The Service has a collection of well known carols for the congregation to sing as well as special Christmas choral pieces sung by the Imperial College Chamber Choir.

Our service starts in darkness as we wait for ‘the light of the world’ that brings hope and guidance. Then as the service starts a single light is shared through the congregation as we pass the light from our individual candle to those standing near us.
Towards the end of the service prayers are offered for those in need, for our family and friends, places and people needing peace, as well as those we have loved who have died and who are very much in our thoughts and minds at this time.
