Professor Marta Granström
Professor of Clinical Microbiology

Marta Granström is Professor of Clinical Microbiology at the MTC, Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm. She is also a consultant for the Swedish Medical Products Agency (MPA) since 1995.
Marta’s principal areas of expertise are the immunology, biology and epidemiology of infectious diseases in the population, clinic and laboratory. Her three main areas are Helicobacter pylori, tick-borne diseases (TBD) and vaccines.
Her research encompasses the development and evaluation of immunoassays, vaccine trials with special reference to DTaP vaccines and H. pylori research and has over 180 publications in international journals.
From 1999 to 2006 Marta has represented Sweden on the Group 15 of the EDQM in Strasbourg, which involved writing of vaccine monographs, and since 2007 on the Paediatric Committee (PDCO) of the EMA, evaluating Paediatric Investigation Plans for the PDCO mainly on vaccines.
