Ground your pads down into the mat and discover new means of movement in this yoga class inspired by insect mechanics.
During this hour long vinyasa-style session we’ll be exploring some creepy crawley movements, like unpicking how to insects manage to stick but not get stuck and replicating the honeybee waggle dance.
Lead by a yoga and dance teacher Abbie Biscoe, this class will be structured like a classic vinyasa class, with a warm-up, standing and seated sequence followed by a lovely savasana, with some creepy crawly moves thrown in.
This yoga class has been developed in collaboration with researchers from Imperial College London who study insect movement and behavior:
- Dr Richard Gill, Senior Lecturer, Department of Life Sciences (Silwood Park)
- Dr Maria Kaimaki, Research Associate, Department of Bioengineering
