Feeling uncertain about the action you can individually take against climate change? Want to understand more about the impacts of climate change globally?
Imperial Zero Pollution Our Campuses and Our Education are launching its first Climate Literacy Programme. We’re conducting a half-day pilot course that will take staff through the basics of climate change; it’s impacts; and the actions organisations and individuals can take to limit the impacts.
Please note that this course is not part of the Carbon Literacy Project, which is an externally accredited course.
Who should attend?
All Imperial College London academic, teaching, and operational staff are welcome to attend. The content has been designed as suitable for all ages, backgrounds, and experiences, so whether you’re a climate change beginner or self-proclaimed expert, you’re welcome to sign-up.
What should I expect to get out of the course?
- To feel more confident when discussing climate change.
- A better understanding of what actions you can take towards limiting climate change.
- A great networking opportunity with likeminded people.
- A delicious, sustainable, and free lunch.
How does the course run?
The course runs for a full afternoon on South Kensington campus, with lunch and coffee breaks provided. Once signed up, you’ll receive the full agenda for the day. After the course, there will also be a short catch-up in early December to follow up on what you’ve taken away from the course.
The course will be led by Stav Friedman and Julie Etheridge. Stav Friedman is an adept environmental scientist, passionate about policy, plastic pollution, and climate change. She’s been working for Imperial College London’s Environmental Research Group as a Project Manager since September 2021, and has led the Our Changing Planet evening education course since 2022. Julie Etheridge is a coach with Imperial Coaching Academy, Administrator at Silwood Park, and operates her own coaching practice helping people to feel resilient and resourceful about tackling climate change.
Please register via this form. In case of oversubscription, we will contact you before the event to confirm your attendance. Anyone unable to attend the first session will be automatically placed onto a waiting list.
