Jawdrop fireside

Jawdrop Fireside: Life Sciences follows this February’s successful inaugural Jawdrop Summit: Life Sciences in White City Innovation District (WCID).

WCID is fast emerging as a global economic hotspot in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medicine and business (STEMMB).

Within this thriving deep-tech innovation ecosystem, there has been an incredible growth of Life Science businesses. A key factor for this attraction has been proximity to Imperial College London and Imperial Healthcare Trust, through which Life Science businesses can access Hammersmith Hospital, the North West London Clinical Trials Alliance and Paddington Life Sciences.

Jawdrop Fireside Life Sciences brings together industry leaders, NHS representatives, and academic experts to explore how the use of clinical trials can drive innovation and improve patient outcomes. In an increasingly competitive global environment, the number of industry clinical trials initiated in the UK per year fell by 41% between 2017 and 2021. This challenge is clearly recognised by Government, regulatory and professional bodies; the panel will debate the Government’s proposals on clinical trials, the importance of fostering collaboration between industry, the NHS, and academia as well as the ethical and regulatory considerations.
