Imperial Schools Year 1 Project Open Days
During their first year at Imperial College, Physics students work with a researcher to develop and undertake a research project of their own design. On Monday, June 9th, and Tuesday, June 10th, they will present their results at stands in the Department of Physics to fellow students, staff, and visitors. Over 60 exciting projects will be on display, offering visitors a great opportunity to learn about the Physics research being conducted in the department and to engage with students about their experiences.
Additionally, there will be talks by researchers throughout the event, giving visitors a chance to learn more about the Physics department and the cutting-edge research being conducted in the field. The Open Days are suitable for students studying science or physics at GCSE and A-level, and we would be delighted if teachers and their students could join us.
The event will take place at the Blackett Laboratory at Imperial College (South Kensington Campus). Due to limited seating in our main lecture theatre, please book your places for the talks using the link below. Between 13:00 and 16:30, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the undergraduate project stands in the department. Monday, June 9th:
Session 1: 12:00 – 13:00: Introduction to Physics at Imperial and Peek into Research talk.
13:00 – 16:30: Visitors are welcome to explore the undergraduate students’ project displays in our labs and engage with them about their work.
Session 2: 14:30 – 15:30: Introduction to Physics at Imperial and Peek into Research talk.
Tuesday, June 10th:
Session 3: 12:00 – 13:00: Introduction to Physics at Imperial and Peek into Research talk.
