Project History cartoon

Ever looked at a Git log and thought, “What does ‘small changes’ or ‘fixed bug’ even mean?” Commit messages are your future self’s best friend – or worst enemy. When written well, they make it easy to understand changes, trace bugs, and navigate a codebase with confidence.

This talk explores how to write clear, effective commit messages that support debugging and code comprehension. You’ll learn what to include (and what to leave out) and how to make your messages meaningful.
