Join us at the Bioengineering Christmas Seminar to celebrate science and the end of the year!

This year, Mark Lythgoe, Professor of Biomedical Imaging and Founder and Director of the UCL Centre for Advanced Biomedical Imaging, will end our Department Seminar Series for 2025.

Expect engaging, entertaining research insights during the seminar, along with the opportunity to network over festive food and drinks afterwards.

All staff, students, and external visitors are warmly invited.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is in person only.

⚠️Due to illness, Professor Mark Lythgoe is unable to join us. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to welcome him at a future event.

The programme of the seminar has now been refreshed to highlight three of our newest academics, who have kindly agreed to step in at short notice. Each speaker will give a short introduction to their research, followed by questions and interactive elements.

Our updated line-up includes:

  • Dr Sonja Billerbeck
Filling the skills and technology gap to scale industrial biotechnology
  • Dr Kaushik Jayaram
Insect-Inspired Intelligence, introducing research from his group at the intersection of insect biomechanics and insect-scale robotics
  • Dr Hayriye Cagnan
An overview of her recent MRC CoRE in Restorative Neural Dynamics award.

There will also be festive, interactive elements, a Christmas hamper prize, and time to catch up with colleagues before the end of term.

All staff and students are welcome, and we hope you will join us for a relaxed and engaging end-of-year seminar!
