About the speaker

Dr Darius Armstrong-James is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in respiratory fungal diseases at the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London, and an Honorary Consultant Physician in infectious diseases and medical mycology to the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust.

His research is primarily focussed on innate immunity to Aspergillus fumigatus, with a particular focus on macrophage cell biology and signal transduction. In the laboratory, Dr Armstrong-Jones’ team is increasingly interested in how Aspergillus interacts with other opportunistic bacterial pathogens in the lung during co-infection.
