Imperial College Optics Society (ICOS), a no-profit postgraduate student-driven group supported by OSA and SPIE, and the Centre for Plasmonics and Metamaterials, organises optics-centered activities for professional development aimed at graduate students and young researchers across the optical sciences at Imperial and other London universities.
This year, ICOS is launching LOMS (London Optics Masterclass Series) a series of 10 teaching-focused masterclasses by leading researchers in theoretical and experimental optics, which will run during most of 2019. Their aim is to provide graduate students and early-stage researchers across London universities with tools and techniques rooted in cutting edge research, often not yet available in textbooks, in order to spread their use.
