This year’s Disability History Month keynote lecture will be given by Janette Beetham, Founder and Director of Right Resources Limited.
Janette will explain why ‘accessibility’ in communication as well as in the physical environment are essential in enabling each individual to fulfil their potential. It may seem a “pipe dream” however Janette believes that each and every individual should have the opportunity to utilise their strengths and ultimately be defined by their ability. She will share her personal perspective on the multi-faceted nature of disability and why some people use avoidance to manage with their own insecurities and lack of understanding. She will explore our often unfounded prejudices and why perseverance is required in order to maintain momentum on the journey towards establishing a truly inclusive society.
This event is open to all.
