We welcome CNRS researchers who want to visit our Lab for extended periods, e.g. for an entire academic year. For more details, please contact Greg Pavliotis, Frederic Herau and Celine Montibeller.
Opportunities
ICL-CNRS Fellowships
This joint fellowships programme supports extended visits of Professeurs and Maîtres de Conférences in CNRS-sponsored laboratories to Imperial's Department of Mathematics, providing more opportunities for exchange visits between researchers from French universities and the Department; all fields of mathematics are eligible.
Postes Rouges
Postes Rouges is an annual competition that allows members of the IRL and ex-UMI members to take up short-term positions at other CNRS Labs. This is a scheme that operates 'outwards' and would support a sabbatical or visit to France. If you are planning such a sabbatical, then this would be a scheme to consider.
Short-Term Exchange Grants (STEG)
New opportunities for Imperial academics to make short-term stays in French labs or host short-term visitors from a French lab. The scientific span of these grants, like that of the "Abraham de Moivre" Lab, concerns all domains of mathematics and of their interactions with other fields, such as physics, computer science, biology, economics, social sciences.
CNRS-Imperial International Research Center (IRC) Connect Fund
This fund aims to grow the research, innovation and entrepreneurship collaborations between Imperial and CNRS as part of the CNRS-Imperial International Research Centre for Transformational Science and Technology, with a key focus on a convergence science approach to addressing UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Imperial College London-CNRS PhD Joint Programme
To support collaborative endeavours, the College and CNRS have launched a joint call for proposals between the two institutions in order to develop cooperation in the area of ‘Mathematics, data and their applications across all areas of science’. Funding is available for five research projects, each project should be underpinned by 1 PhD at Imperial and 1 PhD at CNRS. PhD students will be expected to spend time at both the UK and French institutes over the course of the PhD, and a mobility plan should include visits to France & UK for the academic supervisors/ PIs.
Global Researcher Short Visits in AI for Science
A programme supporting short-term research visits to Imperial College London by researchers from eligible institutions in the Global South. Co-funded by the Schmidt AI in Science Global Faculty Fellowships and the CNRS–Imperial "Abraham de Moivre" International Research Laboratory (IRL), it promotes international collaboration and capacity building in the application of AI to scientific research.
