The Functional Genomics Early Career Researcher group aims to support, upskill and develop ECRs across all areas of functional genomics to put them in the best position to achieve their goals

This will be done by:

  • Skills development – including both scientific and transferrable skills, in the form of workshops and training events
  • Increasing the shared knowledge of science – through a seminar series where ECRs will be encouraged to present
  • Providing a platform to share resources and reach out for scientific advice – this will be particularly useful to receive feedback and strengthen grant and fellowship applications
  • Provide opportunities for networking across a wide range of disciplines – to foster collaborations and establish connections among peers and with senior academics
  • Provide a supportive peer community to ensure we excel in our career aspirations.

The early career representative will be an advocate for young scientists to ensure their voices are heard and that their development is at the forefront of the excellence network.
