People
The project is led by Professor Jason Hallett (Department of Chemical Engineering) and has a cross-faculty team of researchers with a broad range of expertise, including:
- polymer synthesis and catalysis
- chemical and biocatalytic recycling of polymers
- renewable composite design and engineering
- mechanical characterisation and micromechanical modelling of blends and composites
- optimization of adhesion and composites recycling
- plastic degradation in biological systems
and also diverse aspects of the circular economy, including:
- manufacturing and process development from waste design of sustainable materials, products and systems
- social and policy innovations needed to drive waste prevention.
