The Centre for Integrative Systems Biology and Bioinformatics (CISBIO) was launched in June 2011 as a result of the merger of the Centre for Integrative Systems Biology at Imperial College (CISBIC) and the Centre for Bioinformatics (CfB).

CISBIO brings together scientists from a wide range of different fields to develop innovative interdisciplinary approaches to understanding biological problems.  A key component of the interdisciplinary strategy is a repeated cycle of experimentation and modelling.

CISBIO operates on a hub and spoke model with its hub on the 3rd Floor of the Sir Ernst Chain Building, Department of Life Sciences, South Kensington Campus.

The Director of CISBIO is Professor Michael Sternberg.
