Luca Garello is a visiting PhD student from the Italian Institute of Technology based in Genoa, Italy. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and continued his studies with a master's degree in Robotics Engineering at the University of Genoa.
His background is centred on deep learning, reinforcement learning and computer vision.
His interest is in cognitive robotics, specifically the development of intelligent robots able to learn from human motion.
During his visit to Imperial College, he is working on imitation learning from visual demonstrations with a focus on the problems of embodiment mismatch and perspective-taking.
