Pitiwat completed his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Naresuan University, Thailand, where he conducted his dissertation in probability theory. He later joined NECTEC, a research organization in Thailand, where he worked on human action recognition, focusing on meta-learning and data fusion techniques to enhance model performance under limited data conditions.
He went on to pursue an MSc in Machine Learning in Science at the University of Nottingham, graduating with distinction. His master’s dissertation investigated gradient-based learning methods in spiking neural networks. Following his studies, he worked as a Data Scientist for a year before joining the Personal Robotics Lab at Imperial College London in September 2025.
At Imperial, his research focuses on deformable object representations that enable generalization in robotic manipulation tasks, particularly in assistive dressing applications. His broader research interests involve applying meta-learning and brain-inspired approaches to enhance generalization in deformable object manipulation.
