Dr Ali Al-Menhali, recent graduate from QCCSRC/Imperial and has since re-joined QP was awarded by HRH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, the Scientific Excellence Award for top PhD degree holder during Education Excellence Day, March 4th 2018. The award is the highest & most important academic honour in Qatar and the award recognises outstanding research scholars, teachers, students and education institutions.

Professor Geoffrey Maitland was awarded the SCI Leverhulme lecture.  This lecture is awarded every three years before the Liverpool and North West Regional Group to promote chemical or technological research or education.
