The Imperial Robotics Forum and Amazon are delighted to open the 2026 call of this exciting initiative to recognise PhD students pursuing outstanding robotics research at Imperial College London.
About the Awards
Separate awards of £2,000 (winners) and £1,000 (runners-up) will be given in three categories: early, mid, and late-stage PhD students. The awards are personal, and their use is up to each student.
How to Apply
Applications should be submitted through the online application form by February 2nd 2026, 11:00 AM GMT. If you have questions, please email Dr Jack Supple at robotics-forum-ops@imperial.ac.uk
Eligibility
PhD students must be enrolled at Imperial College London, be pursuing research in any
area of robotics, and belong to one of the Imperial Robotics Forum research groups. Applications are welcomed from first-year to final-year PhD students in the following categories:
- Early-stage (0 - 1.5 years into PhD)
- Mid-stage (1.5 - 3 years into PhD)
- Late-stage (3+ years into PhD)
These time periods exclude any interruption of studies. Please note that you are not eligible to apply if you won 1st place for any of the stages in previous editions of the competition.
Review of Applications
Reviewers from the Imperial Robotics Forum with no conflict of interest will evaluate the submissions and shortlist up to nine finalists. You should expect to hear back by early March if you are shortlisted as a finalist.
Finalist Presentations
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an awards ceremony for the opportunity to present your work (demos are highly encouraged) to a selection panel composed of Amazon and Robotics Forum representatives for a chance to win £2,000 (winners) or £1,000 (runners-up).
