Ahmed Shamso is a PhD Candidate in Materials Technology at Imperial’s department of Materials, with particular interest in industry driven research. His research is about investigating Underdeposit Corrosion, which is an accelerated pitting taking place under pipeline deposits in sour fields.

Ahmed has an MSc degree from the same department with a thesis focus on Nanomaterials for Biosensing applications. Prior to joining imperial, Ahmed graduated from the Chemical Engineering department at Alexandria University, Egypt. Ahmed is currently the Graduate Students’ Union President at Imperial College London.
