Salam Fellows Initiative: The Abdus Salam Centre for Theoretical Physics announces a new program aimed at fostering exchanges and cohort building with theoretical physicists from LMICs and other underrepresented backgrounds.
Opportunity: We invite applications for short-term visits (weeks to months) to join the Salam Centre in order to establish long-term collaborations and new connections. The initiative is funded by an Imperial College Academic Strategy Gateway under the Salam New Horizons Initiative. It is anticipated that selected projects will be funded at a maximum value of £2,000 each.
Focus: We particularly encourage applications from theoretical physicists that are at PhD level (or about to graduate) but are not yet fully internationally established. Applicants are expected to be from LMICs or from an underrepresented background.
Timescale: The scheme is managed on a ongoing basis, without specific deadlines, but support for activities should be sought at least 3 weeks in advance of expenditure.
Management: To ensure a quick feedback to applicants, the Salam Fellow initiative is directly managed by the Salam Centre, though we will solicit experts' opinions as needed.
