Given the contemporary focus on climate change and net zero, one could be forgiven for thinking that humanity had only recently become aware of this area. The reality is that we have been studying this space since the late 18th century. This article gives a brief history of the increasing awareness and understanding of the existence and impact of anthropogenic climate change from the 1770s to the present day.
