This 'Vision for Education in the Age of AI' was first shared with the Imperial community for consultation in early 2026; it has since been refined in response to that feedback and through review with senior leadership across the university.

The most recent revision strengthens the framing of the introduction and ambition, aligning the Vision more closely with our Science for Humanity mission, reflects Imperial's global influence and our ambition to lead, and makes clearer that our graduates must be prepared for a professional world in which AI is already deeply embedded.

Throughout, the approach remains firmly human-centred, keeping rigorous learning, academic integrity, and human connection at its core while pursuing educational excellence through the purposeful and evidence-led use of AI.

Additionally, the university has been working closely with the Imperial College Union, with the Vision having the insight and approval of Nico Henry, President (AY 2025/26), and Emina Hogas, Deputy-President (Education) (AY 2025/26).
