About the course
The Introduction to Generative AI for Staff course is available for all staff at Imperial.
It is designed to equip staff with practical generative AI skills and the critical awareness needed to navigate this rapidly evolving field in a responsible way.
Generative AI is transforming the way we work, teach and support students. This course provides a practical introduction to using GenAI responsibly in a higher education context. You will explore how GenAI works, where it can add value, and how to use it safely and effectively within Imperial. You will also consider its limitations, its role in supporting wellbeing, and how to make informed decisions when using GenAI yourself or supporting colleagues and students.
Underpinned by the Imperial Values, the course promotes confident ethical and reflective use of GenAI, supporting an open and informed conversation across the university.
The course was a collaboration between Imperial’s AI Futurists, the Interdisciplinary EdTech Lab and also includes design elements from Imperial's Digital Media Lab.
