Who is this course for?

This course is designed for learners who have completed the 40 study hours Imperial after:hours German 1 course, or who have an equivalent level of proficiency.

Course overview

This course is an extension course designed to consolidate and expand on key structures and vocabulary developed on the Imperial after:hours German 1 course, to help you master simple everyday situations and progress with confidence to the next level.

Although there may be some overlap with topics, vocabulary and structures covered in a German 1 course, the extension course will give you the opportunity to expand, consolidate, and further explore these through active communication and lots of practice.

Building practical confidence in a supportive environment

In addition to the development of language skills, the course provides opportunities for intercultural learning, gaining insights into the culture, life and society of the German speaking countries and developing increased cultural awareness.

The interactive classes follow a communicative approach and aim at developing all four language skills (speaking, reading, listening and writing) and improving pronunciation. Activities include pair work, as well as group work and the use of multimedia resources and language learning apps to enhance learning experience in class and in homework tasks.
