Everyone has a unique story to tell. Whether your inspiration comes from a vivid imagination or the rich tapestry of your own life experiences, finding the right words to express it is a rewarding journey.

Join acclaimed author Martin Ouvry for an engaging, practical creative writing course in the heart of London. Designed specifically for adult learners, this course provides the tools, techniques, and confidence you need to transform your ideas into polished prose.

What You Will Achieve

By the end of this course, you will have moved beyond the 'blank page' to accomplish three key goals:

  • A Completed Draft: Produce a self-contained short story or a compelling chapter of a novel or memoir (approx. 1,000–2,000 words).

  • Refined Creative Vision: Identify and develop the core themes of your writing through guided exercises.

  • Technical Mastery: Master the essential elements of craft—such as character, pace, and voice—tailored to your specific interests.

A Supportive, Collaborative Environment

Writing doesn’t have to be a solitary pursuit. Our sessions are built on friendly, constructive discussion. In a small group of no more than 12 students, you will receive personalized feedback in a supportive atmosphere that celebrates the "emerging voice" of every writer.

To inspire your progress, we’ll explore short extracts from a diverse range of great literature and modern guides on the craft of writing.

There is also a daytime version of this course open for recruitment.
