Course overview

This course is designed for learners with a basic knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic who wish to continue developing their skills. You will extend your abilities in listening, speaking, reading and writing, with a focus on everyday, practical situations.

The course will introduce a range of simple grammatical structures and expand your vocabulary, while also deepening your understanding of the cultures and daily life in Arabic-speaking countries.

Sessions are accessible and interactive, encouraging active participation through practical, communicative tasks. Class activities—such as role-plays, discussions and collaborative exercises—are designed to build fluency, accuracy and confidence in using the language.

Course content is responsive to the needs and progress of the group, with the tutor adapting materials and pace to support effective learning for all participants.

This course uses a textbook and other material to teach the course. Advice on which course textbook to buy will be given in the first class.
