Course overview
This course is designed to help you strengthen your interactive skills in Modern Standard Arabic, with a particular focus on communication in everyday situations commonly encountered at work, in social or academic settings, and while travelling in Arabic-speaking countries. You will revise key grammatical structures and broaden your vocabulary, exploring a variety of lexical fields and language registers.
Alongside language learning, the course continues to deepen your cultural awareness, helping you engage more confidently and appropriately in a range of Arabic-speaking contexts. The pace and content of the weekly sessions are shaped by the needs and progress of the group, with the tutor adapting activities accordingly.
By the end of the course, you will be able to communicate more effectively in familiar situations, both orally and in writing. You will be able to produce and respond to short texts using a wider range of grammatical structures and vocabulary, and you will have developed a greater understanding of the cultures and customs of Arabic-speaking countries.
This course uses a textbook and other material to teach the course. Advice on which course textbook to buy will be given in the first class.
