More BSL is a course aimed at those who wish to improve and develop their signing skills from the Introduction to British Sign Language course.

The course does not offer a formal qualification in British Sign Language, although once completed participants in the class might progress to other courses elsewhere offering more formal accreditation.

Topics covered in the classes include the following although please note that this programme is indicative only and may be subject to some modification.

• BSL receptive skills: This unit enables the learner to demonstrate their understanding of routine language in everyday situations;
• BSL productive skills: This unit enables the learner to demonstrate their use of language in everyday situations expressed through simple sentence structure;
• BSL conversational skills: This unit allows the learner to demonstrate they can hold a routine conversation by understanding and using language expressed through simple sentence structures and set phases, expressing views and clarifying understanding.

All sessions are delivered in a practical, enjoyable and engaging way.

For improved proficiency in the language you will be asked to practice signing outside of the taught sessions.
