Who is this course for?

This course is for those who have completed the Imperial after:hours German 3 (Post-Beginners) course, or an equivalent course elsewhere, and have reached level A2 on the Common European Framework for Languages.

If unsure about the level, please contact us for a free language level check.

Course overview

This course aims to develop your language skills in all four key areas—reading, writing, speaking, and listening—with particular emphasis on the development of oral proficiency and cultural awareness. The course covers a variety of contemporary topics such as social trends, the environment, and the world of work.

In addition, we will look at key structures of German grammar, including tenses, sentence structure, the Passive, and prepositions. Video and audio resources will help improve listening skills.

The sessions are designed to be accessible and engaging, encouraging discussions and debates on the topics presented.

Advice on which course textbook to buy will be given before or in the first class.
