Who is this course for?

This course is open to those who have completed our Beginners Part 1 course (15 hours of tuition, or equivalent experience) within the past six months. Applicants unsure of their proficiency level should request a telephone-based level check pre-enrolment. Please email the tutor your name, contact number and a convenient day and time to be contacted.

Course overview

This course aims to extend and consolidate your existing language skills in Hindi, developing further your knowledge of Hindi vocabulary and grammar. Hindi script-writing and reading simple words is also part of the course.

You will learn how to introduce a friend, ask and talk about regular activities such as daily and weekly routines, talk about evening & weekend plans, as well as talk about what you are doing now or nowadays. You will also learn how to use the days of the week and times of the day.

Vocabulary relating to the meals of the day will also be covered, alongside learning how to order food in a restaurant (including using imperatives).

Your tutor will practice with you the use of frequency and sequencing in sentences. Learning how to talk about possession (using to have) and how to ask questions using how much & how many will also be introduced.

All sessions are taught in a practical, enjoyable and engaging way. Whether you have family connections to India, are planning a visit, are drawn to Indian culture, or have professional contact with the Hindi-speaking world, this course offers an ideal introduction to the language.
