Who is this course for?

The course is suitable for those who have completed Japanese 2 (Post-Beginners) on the after:hours programme or possess equivalent experience. If you are not sure if this course is for you, please contact us for a free language level check.

Course overview

This course is designed to elevate your language skills to a higher level by developing further the four language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, with an emphasis on oral skills.

Focusing on increasingly complex grammar, vocabulary expansion, and deeper cultural insights, the course enables you to engage in more complex conversations, enhance your writing skills with a gradual introduction of basic Kanji, and gain a better understanding of Japanese society and culture.

Sessions are designed to be  accessible and engaging, encouraging you to build on your prior learning through practical and collaborative communicative tasks. The programme will depend in part on the specific group dynamics, with the tutor moderating the content depending on the development of skills across the whole group.

This course uses a textbook and other material to teach the course. Advice on which course textbook to buy will be given in the first class.
