Course overview
This course aims to consolidate and enhance existing skills in Japanese. It is designed to develop spoken and written language skills across a variety of contexts by introducing authentic, everyday situations that facilitate the use of more diverse and complex grammar and expressions.
The course will cover a broader range of grammar, expressions and vocabulary, enabling you to gain a deeper understanding of modern Japanese language and society in both informal and formal settings. More Kanji will be introduced to expand the reading proficiency.
Sessions are designed to be accessible and engaging, encouraging you to build on your prior learning through practical and collaborative communicative tasks. The programme will depend in part on the specific group dynamics, with the tutor moderating the content depending on the development of skills across the whole group.
This course uses a textbook and other material to teach the course. Advice on which course textbook to buy will be given in the first class.
