Who is this course for?

This course is designed for those who have completed Korean 1 (Beginners) Part 1, or equivalent level of proficiency (approximately 20 hours of study). If you are not sure if this is a suitable course for you, please contact us for a language level check.

Course overview

This course builds on the foundations established in a beginners’ course and is designed to help you communicate with greater confidence in Korean. You will expand your vocabulary, develop a better understanding of Korean grammar, and begin to use a wider range of expressions in everyday situations.

Through speaking, listening, reading and writing activities, you will practise using Korean in practical contexts while also becoming more familiar with common idioms and linguistic features of the language.

Alongside language learning, the course will also explore aspects of Korean culture, including customs, traditions and elements of Korea’s history, helping you better understand the cultural context in which the language is used.

The programme is designed to respond to the interests and progress of the class, allowing the tutor to adapt and shape the sessions according to the needs and development of the group.

This course uses a textbook and other material to teach the course. Advice on which course textbook to buy will be given in the first class.
