Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at people with no previous knowledge of Portuguese, or very little experience speaking the language. If you are not entirely new to Portuguese please contact our tutor to check if this course is suitable.

Course overview

On this course you will learn the basics of speaking and understanding Portuguese. The emphasis is very much on the spoken language, including vocabulary, pronunciation, basic grammar, and essential phrases for everyday communication in both European and Brazilian contexts.

Through interactive classroom sessions, with role-playing, word games, quizzes and more, your tutor will help you to develop real competency in Portuguese which you will be able to put into practice in the real world.

The course combines language learning with cultural insights, helping you understand Portuguese-speaking cultures while developing practical communication skills.

Advice on any textbooks needed will be given in the first session.
