Course overview
If you already have some basic knowledge of Russian and are ready to expand your skills, this course is the perfect next step. The course will help you build greater confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing Russian in everyday situations, while deepening your understanding of Russian life and culture.
The focus throughout is on developing your ability to use Russian actively and independently. You will be encouraged to notice and understand language patterns for yourself, allowing you to retain new material more effectively and apply it confidently in a range of real-life contexts. From shopping and travel to healthcare, social occasions, and discussing the weather, each session brings practical scenarios to life through lively, interactive activities.
As part of the course, you will also develop valuable learning strategies to support independent language study and gain insight into Russian cultural practices, attitudes and norms. Whether you're learning Russian for personal interest, travel, heritage reasons or future academic progression, this course provides a supportive and stimulating environment in which to take your learning to the next level.
Information on recommended textbooks will be given in the first session.
