Course overview

This evening course is for those who want to gain practical WordPress design and maintenance skills to create a great-looking and effective website.

Whether for personal use, blogging, or supporting a small business or organisation, this beginner-friendly class will teach you how to design, create, and maintain your own websites using WordPress. WordPress is an easily available web-building program, and through hands-on training you will be taught how to use its various features to build a functional and effective website.

The course will also help you to understand the importance of a well-structured website, with a focus on the relationship between content, users, and engagement, and strategies to improve website visibility on search engines.

You do not need any special coding or other technical skills in computing, although a basic understanding of how to use a computer is necessary.

Reading material or special equipment needed (if any)

You should have access to an internet-enabled computer outside of the classroom.
