The Internal Communications Network brings together staff with internal communications responsibilities to share best practice, planning and strategic campaign delivery.

Any staff who have internal communications responsibilities (e.g. running a staff or student newsletter) are encouraged to join, even if you don’t have the word ‘communications’ in your job title!

If you would like to join the Internal Communications Network, please email the Internal Communications team mailbox.

Sharing news across the university

Members can share details of news, events and campaigns by email or the network’s Teams channel – and can then be included in departmental and faculty communications such as newsletters, emails and town halls.

Internal communications buddy scheme

The internal communications team manages a buddy scheme which matches colleagues across the organisation to share skills, discuss challenges, and to have a go-to for any comms/Imperial questions they have.  If you would like to join the scheme, please complete the online form.

Digital screens

All digital screen owners, and those interested in creating content for screens should join the network. This will give you access to a Teams channel with a ‘Digital Screens’ chat stream between screen owners and content creators, a planner of central Communications Division content, and the file location of all new digital screen content.

Monthly meetings

The Internal Communications Network meets monthly (usually the last Thursday of the month at 11.00) on Teams. These meetings are an opportunity to share information on upcoming campaigns and best practice. Meeting notes and the recording are circulated after each meeting.

If you would like to present an item, please email the Internal Communications team mailbox.

We also hold termly coffee mornings to catch up in person as well.
