This workshop invites new and experienced PGR supervisors to reflect on how they collaborate within supervisory teams.
The session aims to enhance critical reflection and provide practical tools for effective collaboration within doctoral supervisory teams. The session covers three key themes: the importance of building trust within the team, tools for aligning supervisors' expectations, and strategies for proactively managing conflicts.
Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, you will be better able to:
- Acknowledge the importance of building trust in the supervisory team
- Become familiar with tools that can support aligning expectations within the supervisory team
- Address and manage potential disagreements in the supervisory team.
This course is open to Main, Co- and Assistant supervisors of doctoral researchers.
Background
Since 2024, Imperial has been a Practitioner Partner in the national project Next Generation Research Supervision Project (RSVP).
During 2025-26, we will be piloting this and other activities as part of our role in the RSVP project, offering Imperial supervisors a variety of opportunities to explore, develop and enhance their understanding, confidence and practices.
