The Council is the governing body of Imperial College London. Its structure and roles are established by Statute. It is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and finances of Imperial, for the efficient management and good conduct of the affairs of the University, and for oversight of its governance and compliance.
The University Management Board (UMB) brings together senior academic and non-academic executives in advising the President on all major strategic, policy and operational issues.
The Court, which brought together alumni, neighbours, and key stakeholders, has now been wound down. We thank all who have served as members of Court for their expertise and commitment to Imperial.
The Senate is the principal body responsible to the Council for the educational work of the University. The powers and functions of the Senate are determined by Ordinance.
