Imperial College London’s Court provided a forum to connect the University with its community, alumni, and partners. Initially, it brought together academic and professional staff, students, members of Senate and Council, and external leaders from industry, public life, and professional bodies.

Over time, the Court became an externally focused stakeholder body, providing a forum to receive an update from the President, discuss strategic developments, and offer insight and advice. In recent years, members themselves felt that the Court was no longer the most effective way to contribute, with many already engaged with the University in a variety of ways. To reflect this, and after careful consideration by Council and senior leadership, the Court has been wound down in favour of flexible and purposeful engagement that allows stakeholders to contribute in ways that best suit their expertise and interests, ensuring Imperial continues to benefit from their insight and support.

We are grateful to all who have served on the Court. Their expertise, guidance, and commitment have helped shape Imperial’s growth, reputation, and impact.
