Data questions
- What data will be transferred into the new system? And how far back will the transfer cover?
- How will the data transfer happen? Is there anything we need to do to prepare our data and by when?
Data that will be transferred into the new system, Oracle, which consists of different areas; Finance (General Ledger, Procurement, Payables, Assets, and Expenses), HCM and Projects. For the General Ledger the transfer will cover the last two years and for some projects the last 18 months of data will be loaded. For Master Data we will be looking at active records including active employees and terminated employees in current tax year, active suppliers, active customers and open transactions to be migrated to Oracle Fusion. However, historical data will also be held in our archiving solution and we will have reporting capability to ensure key information is available.
The data needs to be prepared before it is transferred by going through data cleansing. This involves going through the data and making sure there are no duplicates and fixing or removing incorrect, corrupted or incomplete data, and extracting it from its current format and laying out in a way that is compatible with the new system. We have completed one cycle of data migration. We will have two more cycles of data migration during testing and the fourth data migration cycle for production next year. Ideally, cleansing will be done prior to cycle three in December 2025.
