The vision of our Imperial College Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC) is that the quality of life of our patients and populations will be measurably improved by translating discoveries into medical advances, new therapies and techniques, and by promoting their application in the NHS and around the world.  This vision is realised through our NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) which takes basic research findings and transforms them more quickly and efficiently into medical practice.

ARC@Imperial is built on this AHSC vision and will utilise the NIHR Imperial BRC for effective translation of our research.  ARC@Imperial has the unique resource of the large and diverse patient population of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Working with our local NIHR partners: Imperial NIHR Clinical Local Research Network (CLRN), Imperial NIHR Biomedical Research Unit (BRU),  NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) for North West London we are uniquely positioned to focus on the needs of the patient and public. We aim to improve the patient experience and ensure accelerated and sustainable uptake of clinically innovative and cost effective interventions into patient care.  Specialist Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust partners such as The Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust Microbiology Laboratories and Centre for Medication Safety and Service Quality are crucial to ARC’s mission.
