Echoes Lab (Electrical CHaracterisation Of Emerging Semiconductors) has been founded in 2023 by Julie Euvrard, and is based in the Department of Physics at Imperial College London.

Our mission is to enable efficient, sustainable, and affordable energy harvesting and storage technologies.

Our expertise in experimental semiconductor physics is leveraged through advanced electrical characterisation. In-depth understanding of optoelectronic and charge transport properties in emerging semiconductors guides us towards controlled and optimised technologies. Our research currently focuses on halide perovskites and organic semiconductors for solar energy applications.

Our values, conscientiousness, benevolence, and passion, define how we approach science, research and collaboration.

Echoes Lab is hiring!

We are looking for a motivated Research Associate to join our Team and work on the development of Hall effect in organic semiconductors. Note that prior knowledge in Hall effect is not required, and a strong interest in electrical characterisation of emerging semiconductors will be valued. First Echoes research talk and poster!

The research conducted in Echoes Lab has started to come alive during a lovely summer school in Wales. Carlo Duva (left) and Xinxu Zhang (right) have nicely and clearly presented their ongoing research on halide perovskites and carbon nitrides.

A big thank you to the very first Echoes member!

A big thank you to Emma Horgan who helped build the first setup of Echoes Lab! This setup is intended to reliably measure conductivity in highly resistive samples using a 4-point configuration. Electrical measurement on high impedance samples is not an easy task, and Emma played a major role in the development of this setup. I wish you all the best in your journey and you are welcome back in the lab anytime!

Echoes Lab is born

Julie Euvrard joined Imperial in January 2023 to build her lab. Echoes Lab came to life over the summer with its very first member, Emma Horgan. We can't wait to welcome the future team members and build together our little community, grow our lab culture, and work towards our common mission.
