Defining, and understanding, the concept of ‘learning well’ is essential for any Imperial student at every stage of their academic journey. ‘Learning well’ refers to more than just good grades – it’s about how you can achieve this in effective, efficient and sustainable ways. In the words of one of our focus group participants: “It’s not how smart you are. It’s not how hard you work. It’s about the strategy you use”.
The resources in this section focus on practical approaches used by fellow students that they found helped them to ‘learn well’ here at Imperial. It is important to note, however, our research found that arriving at these strategies often involved a process of trial-and-error, self-reflection and evaluation, and that these components are valuable cogs in the learning cycle. These strategies and ideas are being shared as suggestions for consideration and inspiration that you may find help you to craft your own path to ‘learning well’ here at Imperial.
